Offutt Air Force Base Fire Crash and Rescue Facility

The fire crash and rescue station at Offutt Air Force Base accommodates a full array of emergency capabilities, including EMS, rescue and hazard material removal. The Weitz Company was selected to construct this new base facility to store and maintain equipment and provide staff with operational spaces. The 40,000-square-foot facility includes a nine-bay apparatus room, living space to accommodate 24-hour crews and a command and control center, as well as administration and training space.

Challenges successfully managed by the Weitz team while working on this military base included scheduling logistics with USAF operations, meeting high-security requirements and adhering to extensive project quality control measures.
