Services for a wide-range
of project types and markets

From project conceptualization to ongoing operation, our involvement helps simplify the complexity of building.

Preconstruction

Every project starts with an idea. And that’s when we start, too. Our preconstruction expertise provides reassuring predictability for you and your project. Before preconstruction begins, we seek to understand your business goals. Then, we work through the concept design stage together to define the project’s purpose, scope, features and functionality.

With Weitz’s guidance, your vision is refined through a collaborative programming exercise where processes, efficiencies, access, appropriate size, overall appearance, general layout and the preliminary budget are explored.

MEP Solutions

We have a dedicated Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) team that offers design assistance and value analysis consistent with your local market. Our in-house experts have previously worked for subcontractors and are knowledgeable on system comparisons and offer cost saving design enhancements.

Since MEP trades represent 25 percent of most project costs, it is imperative to be accurate at the early budget stage.

Supply Chain

From planning and design stages to on-site installation and delivery, our supply chain division provides maximum efficiency and cost savings. Its unique design-assist approach allows us to understand your project vision early. That way, we can collaborate with your team to develop the right solutions and deliver the right materials to meet your goals.

Our complete supply chain solution provides certainty of cost, quality and schedule by delivering negotiated national pricing, pre-qualified suppliers and coordinated, responsive scheduling with construction.

Lean Construction

Before the first shovel of dirt is turned, we look for new ways to eliminate waste and maximize value for you. Our collaborative project approach is built upon a foundation of Lean principles, which leads Weitz teams to work proactively with you to deliver your project in the safest manner, at less cost and on or ahead of schedule.

We use Last Planner® to maintain our commitment to Lean construction methods. This tool reduces waste by focusing on efficient “hand offs” between trades via increased communication.

Sustainability

At Weitz, we understand that green building practices can substantially reduce operating costs, enhance building marketability, increase worker productivity and reduce negative impacts on the environment. We are committed to the promotion of sustainable design and construction practices on all our projects – even if they are not attempting LEED certification.

We are a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and have more than 130 LEED accredited professionals ready to bring their expertise to your project.

Post-Construction

From groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting, our commitment to client satisfaction doesn’t end when we hand you the keys to the building. We see project completion as just the beginning of an on-going, long-term relationship, and we aim to facilitate a smooth transition from project completion to building occupancy.

Since more than 75 percent of our business is from repeat or referral clients, our reputation depends on your complete satisfaction.

“The Weitz Company is an excellent general contractor, but what separates them from others is their dedication to being the best. The best at finding talented employees; the best at working with design teams; the best at understanding the end user; and the best at delivering projects ahead of schedule without compromising quality.”

Delivery Methods /

Our partnership can be
fostered in many ways

We pride ourselves on being innovative and having an willingness to adapt to our clients’ needs. Because of this, we can operate within a variety of delivery methods to build a project that meets (if not exceeds) your expectations.

Agency

Weitz has an award-winning background in construction management agency delivery. Customers indicate one key reason they select us is because “we manage their work like a general contractor.” We keep a hands-on approach throughout preconstruction, prime contractor solicitation, construction and post construction. We treat the customer’s risk as though it is our own because, ultimately, they’ve hired us based on our reputation and capability. We don’t let contract structure stand in the way of the trust they’ve put in us.

Construction Management

When delivering a project using the construction management method, we serve as your advocate every step of the way. We create a team atmosphere among the owner, architect and contracting firms that will enable a collaborative environment to achieve exceptional building solutions and a first-class product.

Design-Build

Our long-standing relationships with top architects and developers nationwide enables the possibility of unifying your project designer and contractor under a single contract. Instead of managing two separate agreements, Weitz can serve as your project owner to consolidate recommendations and streamline workflow from initial concept through completion.

Integrated Project Delivery

We have always encouraged open and honest communication and a free exchange of ideas. From top management to hourly field personnel, we believe valuable input comes from all levels within a project team. By recognizing each team member brings distinct capabilities and expertise to the table, we can create an atmosphere that builds trust and respect with mutually agreed upon project goals. Integrated Project Delivery lets the experts shine.

Owner Representation

There is a wide range of services and mentalities in the owner representation marketplace. If you are looking for an owner’s representative that has a construction mindset, look no further. Weitz fits well with customers that have well defined capital planning needs, extensive occupied building phasing or deferred maintenance programs. We also bring specific value when a customer has high-design aspiration that need to be coupled with predictable budget, schedule and quality delivery.

Senior Living

The Weitz Company is a pioneer and recognized leader in Senior Living project planning and construction. We help customers optimize their projects through benchmark data, cost trend information and 50-plus years of experience. Our teams have worked coast-to-coast in urban, suburban and remote locations. As senior living evolves to meet the expectations of each generation, Weitz’s foundation and data will be an invaluable tool to help inform our customers’ decision-making process.
