The Weitz Company Celebrates Construction Inclusion Week by Reflecting and Forging a Future Focused on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
This year, Construction Inclusion Week runs from October 16 to October 20. In acknowledgment of the importance of elevating inclusionary practices across the industry, The Weitz Company is proud to be an Ambassador-level sponsor of this year’s event. This industry-wide effort is designed to elevate awareness and engagement of inclusion related activities with the goal of advancing inclusion in construction.
Construction Inclusion Week aligns closely with the efforts our company is making in the DEI space. During this week, we reflect on the importance and impacts of DEI within our company and industry. As part of Construction Inclusion Week efforts, Weitz jobsites and offices across the country will be participating in daily Tool Box Talks focusing on a variety of key DEI topics. Daily topics include:
- Commitment and Accountability
- Belonging
- Supplier Diversity
- Workplace Culture
- Community Engagement
In preparation for this week, Weitz’s Senior DEI Associate, Shekinah Fountain, has spearheaded the company’s effort to cultivate meaningful engagement, including bringing together key leaders from every product line and office to facilitate events with their respective teams. Leaders have been provided training materials, tools, and supplemental resources on each topic in an effort to foster meaningful conversations that create alignment and deepen engagement on this DEI journey for our people and industry partners.
