Southwest General Manager Mina Wassef Honored as ENR Southwest 2024 Top Young Professional   

Each year, ENR Southwest recognizes 20 individuals under the age of 40 within the construction industry for their outstanding achievements and contributions to their companies and communities as Top Young Professionals.  This year, Mina Wassef, The Weitz Company’s Southwest General Manager, was awarded this honor in recognition for his contributions to the company’s growth and success, industry involvement, and community outreach.   

Over his 16-year tenure, Mina has demonstrated strong leadership as a young professional internationally and locally while continuing his education and involvement in serving the community. Entering the construction world in 2013, Mina started with Weitz’s parent company, Orascom Construction PLC, as a Corporate Business Development Manager. In this position, he worked closely with Weitz and eventually transitioned to working for the company full-time. After a decade of corporate strategy and investments experience, Mina was promoted to his current position as General Manager of Weitz’s Southwest office. In this role, he continuously focuses on growing the team and ensuring operational excellence. 

As the leader of Weitz Southwest, Mina upholds a strong sense of community and is actively involved with local organizations such as the Arizona Builders Alliance, NAIOP, and GPEC.  Additionally, Mina strives to create a successful working culture in the Southwest office through strong leadership, transparent communication, a driven work ethic, and by building team comradery. 

Mina has accomplished an incredible amount in his career so far and is continuing to make tremendous strides within the industry. 

Winners from each regional class of Top Young Professionals will be put forward for consideration in the national round of judging, which will decide ENR’s 2024 Top 20 Under 40. The national winners will be celebrated at ENR’s annual Top Young Professionals conference later next spring.
