Sunny Isles Beach Government Center & Parking Garage

Sunny Isles Beach, FL

Completed three months ahead of contract schedule, this government center consists of two separate structures: a city hall and parking garage.

The four-story city hall includes the mayor’s and city manager’s offices, as well as administrative; legal; fleet management; planning and zoning; real estate; and law enforcement divisions. It features a state-of-the-art commission chamber; conference rooms; community library; post office; and lockup facility with holding cells. A 57,206-square-foot parking structure sits beneath the western leg of the city hall and integrate public functions at the base.

Built in phases, The Weitz Company first constructed a new Tony Roma’s restaurant to replace the existing facility on-site. Once opened and in full operation, crews restaged the project for the construction of the new government center.
