// Delivering Complex Power
Global Strength, Local Execution
The Weitz Company brings more than 170 years of construction leadership in the United States as a subsidiary of Orascom Construction. Together, the global entity combines more than 240 years of construction experience delivering complex infrastructure projects worldwide, including more than 30 GW of power generation capacity that has been built or is currently under construction. Leveraging proven Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) expertise, established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) relationships, and experience gained from some of the world’s largest and most complex power projects, we deliver solutions across the full spectrum of power generation technologies, including natural gas, simple cycle and combined cycle facilities, hydroelectric, wind, and solar.
This proven global experience positions us to help address one of the most significant challenges facing the energy industry today. The U.S. power market is entering a period of unprecedented demand. By 2030, more than 170 GW of additional generation capacity will be required, driven by rapid data center expansion and the continued electrification of the American economy. Meeting this need will require experienced partners to deliver increasingly complex energy infrastructure projects.

Integrated EPC Delivery Backed by Proven Experience
Our team brings proven EPC experience across some of the world’s most complex and high-capacity projects. Through established OEM relationships, a dedicated supply chain group, and a preconstruction-led delivery model, we advance critical decisions when they have the greatest impact on cost, schedule, and execution. When preconstruction, engineering, procurement, and construction are managed by one integrated team, decisions are better aligned from early development through project execution. This approach helps owners and developers reduce risk, protect schedules, and deliver critical infrastructure with confidence. The result is greater project certainty and lasting positive impact for our clients and the communities they serve.
Engineering
Our team combines local market knowledge with global power expertise, bringing together professionals who understand the complexities of large-scale energy projects. From early planning and site development through detailed design coordination and operational readiness, we integrate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process considerations to optimize constructability, performance, reliability, and long-term asset value. Our experience delivering large-scale industrial and data center facilities gives us firsthand knowledge of complex process systems, critical equipment installations, and demanding project schedules.
Procurement
Effective procurement extends far beyond equipment purchasing. Our team manages the technical, commercial, logistical, and contractual interfaces that influence project success. From major equipment and balance-of-plant systems through transportation, expediting, supplier management, and delivery coordination, we execute procurement strategies that reduce risk, protect schedules, and support successful project delivery. Orascom’s procurement teams have a global reach, with operating units in the USA, Europe, EMEA, and China.
Construction
Power generation construction demands exceptional safety performance, disciplined execution, and rigorous coordination across thousands of interdependent activities. Our self-perform capabilities help drive efficiency, quality, and schedule certainty while managing sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems, major equipment installations, and critical stakeholder interfaces. From field execution through systems turnover, commissioning, startup, and energization, we maintain a relentless focus on safety, operational readiness, and successful project delivery.
// Record-Setting Scale
New Capital Combined Cycle Power Plant
The New Capital Power Plant is one of the world’s largest gas-fired combined-cycle power plants and represents a landmark achievement in global power construction. Delivered by Orascom and Siemens Energy for the Egyptian Electricity Authority, the 4,800 MW facility provides power to millions of homes across Egypt. Orascom executed the full EPC scope, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Completed in record time, the project set a new benchmark for fast-track power project delivery while achieving 47.4 million work hours without a lost-time incident, reflecting the disciplined execution and safety culture that define our team’s approach to every project.
