Palm Beach County Belle Glade Library

The Palm Beach County Belle Glade Library is a 17,000-square-foot facility that includes one, large civic center meeting room. The Weitz Company worked hard to keep the local community informed of the work happening at the site, especially since it is located in a residential area. We coordinated with Workforce Alliance to put the local community to work. Additionally, this site had to be completely de-mucked prior to construction start. This required careful coordination between Weitz’s project team and Palm Beach County.

This project met all requirements of the Davis Bacon Act and even went above standards. Weitz was given a set goal of 15 percent Small Business Enterprise utilization, which we exceeded and achieved 41.6 percent.
