Jesse Hammes Promoted to Vice President of Weitz Industrial

June 23, 2023  /  News Blog,

The Weitz Company is excited to announce Jesse Hammes as Vice President of the company’s Industrial unit. Hammes has been with the company for nearly two decades, with his entire tenure focused on the industrial and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Hammes started with the Weitz Company in 2004 as a project engineer for the Industrial Plant Services team. His passion for large capital projects led him to Tecnico, a subdivision of the Weitz Industrial Group, in 2006 to work as an assistant project manager on the company’s first biodiesel project. Continuing in his career, Jesse supported industrial growth and projects nationally as an onsite project manager in locations such as New Orleans, Memphis, and Pasco, and on a $9B Canadian Natural Resources Horizon Oil Sands project. In 2013, Hammes took on the role of senior project manager on the Iowa Fertilizer Plant project in Wever, Iowa.

“Our Industrial Group is truly at an inflection point where our strategic plan for growth aligns with market conditions in advanced manufacturing, processing and other industrial sectors. Each of these key market sectors is experiencing significant growth driven by factors such as economic resurgence, reshoring, legislative incentives surrounding clean energy, the recent promotion to expand our national food processing sector, and more. This growth presents a unique opportunity for Weitz to become market leaders by continuing to deliver exceptional results for our clients every time. Thanks to the talented and remarkable people we have on our Industrial team and throughout the Weitz and Orascom companies, I have no doubt we will achieve this goal and beyond.”

In the last couple of years, Hammes became more actively involved in business development, providing a keen interest in Industrial’s strategic growth path. His operations background, understanding of process flow, and Lean principles, combined with his sales mentality will prove to be strong assets in his new position. He also played an integral role in establishing and fostering relationships with a number of the company’s most valued clients, cultivating repeat business through these strong relationships.

Hammes will continue to provide leadership and construction management within large existing operational facilities and greenfield plant construction through start-up and commissioning while growing the Industrial business into new and emerging markets nationally across the company.

Weitz’s Industrial experience includes agricultural (feed, seed & grain), pet food, food processing, manufacturing, semiconductors, distribution & cold storage, processing, and renewables on light to heavy Industrial projects.
