Ryan Tousley of Weitz Mission Critical Receives Des Moines Business Record 40 Under 40 Recognition
Ryan Tousley, Senior Business Development Manager for Weitz Mission Critical, was recently honored as a member of the Des Moines Business Record’s 40 Under 40 class of 2024. Ryan received this recognition as a testament to his leadership and involvement in the greater Des Moines community. At The Weitz Company, Ryan currently leads business development efforts and strategy for this growing division of building cutting edge hyperscale data centers in the United States and Mexico.
Ryan has been with Weitz for more than 13 years. During that time, he has managed projects across the Des Moines area including Hilton Des Moines Downtown, Wells Fargo West Des Moines Campus Expansion, and more. In 2018, he transitioned from operations into a business development role where he helped secure projects that have shaped the Des Moines skyline. In 2021, with data center construction opportunities on the horizon, Ryan was asked to help grow Weitz Mission Critical, particularly in key market areas like Northern Virginia, Phoenix, and more.
Ryan has played a key role in the exponential growth of Weitz Mission Critical which now includes the construction of more than $1 billion in hyperscale data center projects in the Des Moines Metro. These construction projects have created hundreds of construction jobs and related business opportunities. More important than contributing to company growth and jobs, Ryan’s leadership is also a key factor in making sure that Weitz Mission Critical projects are safe, environmentally responsible, and respectful of people.

Ryan has been actively involved in multiple organizations throughout the community including the American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Club, and more. He can often be found at local outreach events, fundraising efforts, and supporting local causes. Ryan is an advocate for disadvantaged people and the community. He understands the importance of building connections and cultivating a community that works together and supports one another.
