Kindred Transitional Care Center

Phoenix, AZ

Built near downtown Phoenix, Kindred Transitional Care Center is a 120 bed post-acute care facility focused on patient rehabilitation. The facility is a new 3-story structure dedicated to physical and occupational therapy. The building character is hospitality-based, consisting of high quality food service, salon, and customer service. A major feature of the facility is the large courtyard which will provide a variety of spaces and amenities for patient contemplation and rehabilitation, visitors, and staff. The design serves to unify and set design precedence for an existing medical campus with a primary focus on large courtyards and building entry and way finding. Emphasis has been placed upon the entry sequence, and multi-use courtyard to accommodate patient and staff dining, outdoor therapy, and garden spaces with a therapeutic focus.
