Central Minnesota Renewables Repurpose

This project required retrofitting an existing and operating corn-based ethanol production facility to produce n-Butanol with an operating capacity of 32,000 metrics tons per year of Acetone, Butanol and Ethanol (ABE). Wet solids to Distiller’s Dried Grains with Solubles and corn oil are also produced as byproducts at the facility.

This industry leading endeavor by Green Biologics made this the first facility to produce n-Butanol at a commercial level in the United States.
