The Beach Club – Phase 4 & 5 Renovations

Palm Beach, FL

Phase 4 consisted of large-scale interior and exterior renovations to much of the existing 3-story, waterfront clubhouse. Demolition took place in order to install a new 4,860 SF commercial kitchen. Additional work included a fitness center along with brand new locker rooms for the Club’s members. A library, restroom facilities, employee break rooms, loading docks and Porte Cochere were also part of the project scope. This phase included a partial removal and installation of a new roofing system. There were also miscellaneous plumbing and electrical repairs completed throughout the project. Immediately following the Club’s Phase 4 renovations, an additional interior and exterior renovation project started that featured a full renovation of the second floor event and dining rooms. This project also included the renovation of poolside cabanas, first floor kitchen, corridor and children’s areas. New roofing, full electrical infrastructure and gear replacement were also part of this phase’s scope of work.

Building the WeitzWay

As is the case with most businesses and country clubs on Palm Beach, market sales are driven by the winter seasons. During customer advocacy meetings, schedule was identified as the top priority for the project. The project team broke the project into phased areas and was able to turnover portions of the project much earlier to the membership.

With a large portion of the Phase 5 project involving a complete change out of the electrical switchgear and infrastructure, increased safety planning and implementation was necessary. The project team worked alongside our Safety Manager and Florida Power & Light staff to coordinate and develop a thorough electrical safety plan including a pre-energization plan, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and de-energization tests.

“The Weitz Company is a vital part of both our past and our future. There has never been an issue that was not positively addresses on their side, whether the item was their particular responsibility or not. They truly acted as partners on our team and worked diligently to ensure our success. We are well positioned for many decades to come thanks to the efforts of The Weitz Company.”
