Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Terminal 4 Baggage Handling System Upgrades
Phoenix, AZThe Weitz Company is replacing the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s 30+ year old baggage handling outbound, screening and inbound claim system in Terminal 4 which includes all associated architectural, MEP replacement/modifications. The complete modernization of the Terminal 4 baggage handling system (BHS) includes T4 North (T4N), T4 International (T4I), T4 Recheck (T4R), T4 FIS (T4FIS), and T4 In-bound Claim 1 through 7 (T4IB1-7).
Weitz is providing the following services on this project:
- Provide preconstruction services associated with the 30% BHS, Architectural and MEP design(s)
- Prepare costs and construction program for the BHS and all associated Architectural, MEP
- Prepare a cost document to determine PHX Airport funding requirements by fiscal year
- Tender value-based bids for all scopes of work by GMP and manage the scope schedule and budget of the whole upgrade program, including but not limited to:
- Upgrade/replace BHS electrical, mechanical, technology, lighting, maintenance access, fire/life/safety/security components as needed/required.
- Replace diverters
- Upgrade ControlNet to Ethernet/IP
- Upgrade of reporting servers to allow for all current reporting requirements
- Rewrite of PLC code to remove unused attributes and code and to streamline the PLC operation
- Upgrade/replace Automatic Tag Readers (ATR) and Baggage Measuring Arrays (BMA) equipment
- Upgrade the Terminal 4 electrical service from the utility entrance to all BHS and terminal wide electrical circuits, including SES and all MCP and distribution panels
