Frank DAscanio: Celebrating 20 Years of Leadership, Growth, and Core Values at The Weitz Company 

Twenty years ago, Frank DAscanio started his first day at The Weitz Company, marking the start of an exceptional career. Over the last two decades, Frank DAscanio has grown with The Weitz Company, establishing himself as an impactful leader. Since joining the company in 2005 as a Superintendent in Weitz’s West Palm Beach office, Frank has taken on numerous roles – each position building toward his current role as Vice President and General Manager of Weitz’s Arizona office. 

Leadership Rooted in Culture and Values 

Company culture and core values were two major drivers to Frank choosing to grow his career with The Weitz Company. “I guess the best way to put this is – I love to develop people,” Frank said. His passion for mentoring others, fostering growth, and creating opportunities for future leaders has remained a driving force throughout his career.

Defining Projects That Shaped a Leader 

Throughout his time at The Weitz Company, Frank has contributed to a diverse range of projects across various locations, but two experiences stand out as defining moments in his career: the Texas A&M Park West project and his time managing the Honolulu office. 

Taking the lead on the ambitious Texas A&M Park West student housing project – a 2.2 million square-foot project completed in under 24 months – was the turning point in Frank’s career. This project was not only a huge success but it also built many successful leaders that are still with the company today who now have extensive experience on complex, large-scale projects.  

One of the most challenging endeavors Frank has faced was managing the office in Honolulu. Despite the obstacles, Frank views the experience as transformative. “Between the projects and roles, which were challenging in their own ways, I think those were the things that really defined who I am today,” Frank shared. Managing the Honolulu office and projects deepened his understanding of the business and taught him how to navigate stress under high-pressure conditions. 

Leading the Way Into the Future 

As the Arizona unit continues to grow, Frank remains committed to leading with purpose and integrity. His focus is on contributing meaningfully to both the Arizona office and The Weitz Company as a whole; while nurturing the relationships he has cultivated the last 20 years. Frank continues to embody the core values of The Weitz Company.
