Student Housing Construction Costs Brief Summer 2022

The Construction Confidence Index declined from April to May 2022, in regards to sales, profit margins, and staffing levels; however, backlog in every sector increased during that same period. ENR’s Building Cost Index has gone up 13.5% since last year at this time, while the Construction Cost Index has only risen 7.6%. At Weitz, we are confident in our ability to continue to deliver projects on time and on budget thanks to our integrated preconstruction and planning approach.
