Streamlining Data Center Construction Through Collaboration and Innovation
Leaders at The Weitz Company and EPI Power Participate in Global Conference on Electrical & Operational Innovation on Data Center Jobsites.
As the demand for data centers continues to surge and projects become larger and more complex, so does the need for rigorous safety practices. Earlier this month, team members from The Weitz Company and EPI Power attended the SKANWEAR® Electrical Safety & Operational Reliability Conference 2025, a global forum bringing together safety professionals, engineers, and industry leaders dedicated to advancing electrical safety across construction.
Both companies sponsored the event, and attendees were able to dive deeper on how leadership, proactive planning, and consistent hazard identification help shape a stronger safety culture on Mission Critical jobsites. Attendees from both companies included: Jason Atwell (Safety Manager – Mission Critical | The Weitz Company), Lane Morehead (Sr. Quality Control Manager – Safety | EPI Power), Mark Morissette (Commission Manager | EPI Power), and Nick Bonomo (Energy Marshall | EPI Power).
The Weitz Company and EPI have completed several projects and a data center campus together in recent years. Their teams have experienced firsthand that on large, high-voltage projects, safety isn’t achieved in isolation, it requires full alignment between trade partners and general contractors. Both companies have benefited from this longstanding partnership on the jobsite and have established a common communication standard and shared safety values that they carry on to each project together.
The conference also explored how new technologies, including AI-driven monitoring and predictive analytics, are helping project teams identify potential hazards before they become incidents. These advancements, paired with unified safety leadership, are transforming how the industry approaches complex electrical work.
By engaging in events like the SKANWEAR® Conference, The Weitz Company and EPI Power reinforces their commitment to Zero Incident safety culture and to building strong, aligned partnerships that keep people safe on even the most demanding data center projects.
