Ribbon Cutting Held for Outlook Nebraska Renovation, Addition in Omaha
We were honored to join Outlook Nebraska for its ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday to celebrate the completion of its newly renovated manufacturing plant in Omaha.
This 10-month project held special meaning given the increased opportunities the upgraded facility can provide the blind and visually impaired. Beyond renovating the existing interior, a two-story addition was built to significantly increase the community serving space and warehouse, which included nearly tripling the total usable space and adding an adaptive technology lab.
Since work was performed while the building was occupied, we enhanced our safety protocols during construction to guarantee the well-being of Outlook Nebraska employees. This included installing guardrails around all construction areas and walking paths that had two unique features: 1) Toe boards so people with canes can identify the safe path and 2) Covered top rails to protect against splinters and abrasions.
As the largest employer of the blind and visually impaired in Nebraska (and the only agency of its kind in a seven-state region), Outlook Nebraska is now fully equipped to continuing serving its vision to be the premier provider of choice for exceptional employment, training and experiences that allow the blind and visually impaired to realize their personal and career goals.
