Damietta LNG Train

An Orascom Construction project, the Damietta LNG Train serves the neighboring LNG production plant, which is Egypt’s largest LNG facility. The project was delivered in six packages — Concrete Piles; Steel Supply & Fabrication; Jetty; Tanks; Insulation Works; and Buildings — with Orascom serving as the main contractor on the buildings (99,297 square feet) and steel supply and fabrication.

The Damietta LNG sea terminal is the third largest LNG train in the world with an output capacity of 5.5 million tons of LNG per year, and it was the world’s largest when it came onstream in 2005.

Combined Quantities:

  • Dredging — 92.5M gallons
  • Stone-laying — 300,000 tons
  • Reinforced Concrete — 9.25M gallons
  • Pre-Stressing Cable — 600 tons
