Krista Robinson: Celebrating a Decade with Weitz

One decade ago, Krista Robinson, Vice President of Human Resources, started her career at The Weitz Company. She was initially drawn to the company 10 years ago as she had a desire to work in the construction industry and knew Weitz had a great reputation.  

Achieving a 10-Year Milestone Anniversary 

Krista has grown with the company, working her way up to the leadership position she holds today. Her role has continued to change and expand, providing her with continuous learning and growth opportunities.  

“In my more than ten years here, I’ve been encouraged to stretch beyond my comfort zone, take on new challenges, and grow into opportunities I once never imagined. With that, the people I get to work with everyday make the difference: talented, genuine colleagues who feel like friends.” 

A Decade of Company Evolution 

Over her tenure, Krista has seen the company evolve considerably in size, complexity, specialty, and footprint. She expressed how Weitz’s entry into data center construction and the electric subcontracting space with EPI has had a major impact on the company’s trajectory and how it has, and will continue to, provide new opportunities for our people. 

Despite the exponential growth over the years, she shared that Weitz has continued to stay grounded in its supportive, flexible, small-company culture. “This is core to who we are,” Krista states. “This is what makes Weitz unique.” 

Leading HR Into the Future 

Krista has accomplished a lot in her tenure at Weitz, but growing the HR team to scale the evolution of the company is an accomplishment she is most proud of. Transitioning from a small group with limited bandwidth to a contemporary HR model, with functional centers of excellence and business partners serving the day-to-day needs of the business, is an exceptional accomplishment.
