Construction Started on Sun City Festival Ranch Amenity Center

Ground was broken recently on the 25,154-square-foot amenity center at Sun City Festival Ranch that will enhance the 55-plus active adult community in Phoenix’s Northwest Valley.

The new building will feature a fitness center with an aerobics room; a pool; men’s and women’s locker rooms; a running track; and a high-end recreation center with a great room, bar, fireplace and outdoor fireplace. Residents will have the ability to host large events in the building’s banquet center that will be equipped with two commercial food prep areas and a stage with full lighting.

The Weitz Company has completed multiple projects for Sun City Festival Ranch. Mostly recently, the new sales center that was completed in October 2018 kicked off this current phase of construction. The original sales center and recreation center, as well as the clubhouse and golf maintenance facility, were originally built in 2005. The patio bar and cart barn were constructed in 2017.

Serving as the general contractor on the amenity center, Weitz is working with Phoenix architectural firm SHJ Studio on the design. Construction completion is expected in April 2020.
