Greater Cairo Metro
Greater Cairo, EgyptOur parent company, Orascom Construction PLC, build transformative projects such as this around the world, expanding our expertise, growing our resources, and strengthen the communities where we work.
This is a repeat business project. Through Egyptian French Consortiums, Orascom Construction played an integral role in the development of Greater Cairo Metro Lines II and III since the late 1980s.
Line 2:
The Greater Cairo Metro Line 2 was characterized by the utilization of TBM for the first time in the Middle East. Orascom Construction successfully delivered in a consortium with Cogifer works on phases 1 and 2 of this line with a total length of 50.5 km.
Line 3:
Line 3 is linking between the east and west of Cairo to become the first transversal line. Orascom Construction participated in the execution of many packages for phases 1 and 2, while it is currently working on phases 3 and 4 of the Greater Cairo Metro Line 3. Line 3 Phase 4B was inaugurated in 2020.
