Weitz Completes Two Office Projects in Denver Tech Center

DENVER – The Weitz Company has recently completed two new office buildings in the Southeast Suburban Corridor, bringing the national construction firm’s square feet of built office space in Denver to over 25 million.

Located in the Denver Tech Center, the Dry Creek Spec Office Building is an eight-level, 256,000-square-foot mid-rise that will serve as an additional building to the corporate headquarters campus for Arrow Electronics. Originally designed as a spec office building, it changed into a build-to-suit project for the tenant early in the construction process, which significantly changed how Weitz constructed it.

Collaboration and innovation were fundamental to the project’s ultimate environment, which was evident from the original drawings from the design team and facilitated by Weitz through the construction delivery of the exterior and interior of the building. The external parking garage connects to the main lobby of the headquarters. Built on raised access flooring, the third through eighth floors have collaborative workspaces, neighborhood cafés and a centralized meeting area. In addition, the eighth floor features an open ceiling to the deck. The second floor – also known as the “Amenity Level” – includes a full-service kitchen; fitness center with spin room; large training facility; and mail room.

One Belleview Station, the newest high-rise office building in Denver located at the corner of Belleview and Interstate 25.

The second recently completed project – One Belleview Station – is the newest high-rise at the corner of Belleview and Interstate 25. It is a high-performance, extremely efficient, employee-centric office building located at the Belleview Station light rail stop. Developed by Prime West, in partnership with Goldman Sachs, and built by the design-build team of Gensler and The Weitz Company, One Belleview Station is a premier, Class A, Transit Oriented Development office building in the Southeast Submarket, Metro Denver’s largest office submarket.

Throughout the preconstruction process, Weitz was able to manage the budget to remain within two percent of the owner’s target. This was achieved by working with design-build partners to ensure accurate estimates and, when necessary, utilizing smart value engineering to guarantee the integrity of the design intent.

One Belleview Station is 15 stories that offers 335,000 square feet of office space. The Western Union Company – Colorado’s eighth-largest business by revenue – is moving its headquarters into the building now that it is complete.
