Maria Matamoros: Growing With The Weitz Company For 25 Years
Maria Matamoros, Vice President of Risk Management, recently celebrated an impressive milestone—25 years with The Weitz Company, and 34 years in construction. Throughout her tenure, she has held many different roles at Weitz, starting as a project coordinator in Florida and eventually advancing to her current role in our corporate headquarters office.
When asked what initially attracted her to Weitz, Maria highlighted the company’s people and culture. While she knew she wanted to stay in the construction industry, it was Weitz’s strong sense of community that set the company apart from others.

Maria has taken her own advice by growing with Weitz, moving from Operations to Risk Management, and integrating Operational Excellence into her role once again.
