Weitz and Ralston Public Schools Building Together

The Foundation of a Strong Partnership

August 12, 2026  /  Blog,

Successful school construction is about more than buildings. It is about creating environments where students can learn, teachers can thrive, and communities can grow. For The Weitz Company, our partnership with Ralston Public Schools has been rooted in that shared vision, resulting in projects that support the district’s educational mission while strengthening connections throughout the community.

As construction manager, Weitz has proudly partnered with Ralston Public Schools on numerous projects, including the High School renovation, Middle School improvements, Meadows Elementary improvements, Wildewood Elementary improvements, Blumfield Elementary improvements, and the Mockingbird Elementary demolition and new build. Beyond delivering facilities that serve students and staff, our team has embraced opportunities to become an active part of the Ralston community through project milestones, educational experiences, teacher appreciation events, and programs that inspire the next generation. The lasting success of this partnership is built on a foundation of communication, trust, safety, and community engagement.

Our Formula for a Successful Relationship: Communication

We attribute our successful relationship with Ralston Public Schools to our team’s commitment to communication. Throughout each project, we provide regular updates to staff, students, parents, and community members. Because many of our team members are parents themselves, Weitz understands the importance of communicating beyond the administrative level. We share construction updates through project signage, the district’s social media channels, and dedicated project websites.

We believe clear communication is key to minimizing disruption and inconvenience for building occupants. By proactively sharing project milestones and updates, we help reduce questions directed to school faculty and administration while keeping curious students safely away from active construction areas. Below are several additional ways we communicate with our school partners.

Weekly Contractor Talks

For school projects, Weitz offers weekly morning presentations that allow staff and students the opportunity to ask questions and receive updates directly from the project superintendent. These presentations highlight current construction activities, upcoming milestones, and what to expect next. For Ralston, these sessions can include formal educational presentations from various construction trades that align with classroom curriculum or more informal project updates.

Newsletters & Social Media Updates

Weitz creates project update newsletters that Ralston faculty can share with staff and the community. We also collaborated with the district on social media to highlight project progress, milestones, and important construction updates.

Jobsite Tours

At various stages of construction, Weitz offers both onsite and virtual project tours for Ralston stakeholders. Using 360-degree cameras and virtual tour software, participants can experience the project remotely and explore different areas of construction. In-person tours are led by our project management team and may include presentations from subcontractor representatives who explain electrical systems, mechanical equipment, carpentry, structural steel, welding, concrete, masonry, and finish work.

Project Reviews

Our Procore system allows us to share project documents, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, schedules, and other approved documentation, for educational purposes. Working with teachers, we can provide students with access to select project information that offers real-world insight into the construction process.

Occupied Sites & Maintaining Safety

Safety has always been the highest priority on our Ralston projects, particularly because construction occurred on or adjacent to occupied school campuses. Weitz reinforced our culture of safety with every subcontractor through Pull Planning meetings and individual preconstruction meetings with project managers and foremen, reviewing project-specific expectations before work began.

Each Ralston project required careful coordination of deliveries within high-traffic residential neighborhoods while maintaining safe student pick-up and drop-off operations during the early phases of construction. Our team worked closely with school administrators and staff to coordinate logistics, maintain safe access, and support temporary relocations as needed before helping occupants transition back into their renovated or newly constructed spaces.

For every project we have completed with Ralston Public Schools, The Weitz Company has remained committed to delivering more than exceptional construction services. We have built a relationship founded on trust, communication, safety, and community involvement. By combining transparent communication, meaningful engagement opportunities, and an unwavering commitment to safety, Weitz has consistently helped Ralston achieve successful project outcomes. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the district and look forward to supporting Ralston Public Schools for many years to come.
