McKeen Towers

West Palm Beach, FL

Situated on Flagler Drive, this 15-story tower provides a panoramic view of the Intracoastal, Palm Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. At the time of initial construction in 1998, McKeen Towers made Lourdes Noreen McKeen a first-of-its-kind senior living community in the area. With 69 independent living units, 34 assisted living units and 132 skilled nursing beds, it offers the best of both long-term care and housing. The facility includes public and private dining rooms, chapel, recreation areas, convent facility, pool and spa deck, beauty salon, and underground parking.

Over 20 years after completing construction, Weitz returned to renovate the waterfront senior living tower. Construction work was concentrated between the fifth and 12thfloors of the building. New flooring, trim and wallcoverings were added in the corridors of the fifth, sixth and eighth floors. The community dining areas on the fifth and sixth floors were modernized with new LED lighting, chandeliers, architectural ceiling panels, trim and wood flooring. All residences on the eight floor were fully remodeled with new flooring. Renovations across floors 9-12 are consistent. Two of the existing 14 residences on each floor were combined to create four penthouse units (one per floor) that overlook downtown West Palm Beach.
