Iowa State University Bessey Hall Addition

Project consists of an 63,425 gross square foot building addition to Bessey Hall that includes four (4) floors above grade, a connecting atrium, a mechanical penthouse and a partial basement. The new addition includes eight (8) new teaching laboratories with associated support spaces on First and Second Floors, two 2,000 square foot general university classrooms located on Second Floor, 7,300 square feet of new research lab with associated support spaces on Third Floor, and 9,500 square feet of shelled space for future research laboratory expansion on Fourth Floor. The project will add a new accessible entrance at the north side of the building, entering into the new atrium between existing Bessey Hall and the new addition; plus an additional entrance at the south side of the building. Also included in the addition project will be new collaboration work spaces, new restrooms, and new mechanical spaces that will act as new utility entrance points for the Bessey Hall building.
