The Woodlands at John Knox Village
Pompano Beach, FLThe Woodlands is a seven-story, 144-unit skilled nursing facility located in Pompano Beach, Fla. It is the first skilled nursing facility in the state of Florida to incorporate the Green House® model concept of senior care into a skilled nursing model.
Amenities include the Palm Bistro; rehab services; rejuvenation salon and spa; wellness center; and the Life Enrichment Center.
The first floor is reserved for common and social areas. The remaining six floors each have two Green House® homes with 12 private bedroom suites, personal bathrooms, living room, open kitchen and dining room.
A key to our success on The Woodlands project was to address a critical client concern: Open communication with existing John Knox Village residents. To that end, we wrote construction updates for the Village newsletter, invited residents to regular “coffee talks” with our superintendent and provided passers-by with unobstructed views of our construction progress via a custom-built viewing station along the perimeter of the site.
