Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Home Base

Weitz provided preconstruction and construction services on Wells Fargo Home Mortgage’s corporate headquarters located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The project was completed on a fast-track schedule in 22 months.

A unique feature of this facility was the 36,000-square-foot data center located beneath the parking lot – one of the first in this area located totally underground. Because of the critical information housed by the data center, its design provides superior protection against disaster. It also incorporates a unique waterproofing system whereby the entire structure is essentially encased in a rubber membrane.

The interior of the office building features numerous unique finishes, including break rooms; an open atrium with custom artwork suspended from an overhead skylight; a state-of-the-art cafeteria; and aquatic features such as pillars cascading water.
