Syngenta Seeds Greenfield Vegetable Seed Facility

Pasco, WA

Located on a 40-acre greenfield site, this design-build project provided a new corn and small seeds facility. The complete scope of work included the design and construction of a 125,000-square-foot conditioned and unconditioned warehouse; plant office; fumigation; seed conditioning; cob load out; and harvest complex.

The harvest complex included green corn receiving; husk and sort; dryer; seed conditioning; and chopper building. The seed conditioning area of the facility consisted of parent seed and small vegetable sizing lines; sweet corn shelling line; dust control system; multiple conditioning lines; and treating and packaging lines.

In addition to construction work, The Weitz Company performed the relocation and installation of conditioning and conveying equipment from two existing facilities.
