Another project as part of the Elwha River Restoration Project , this 10.6 million gallons per day (MGD) municipal water treatment plant, with a pump station capacity of 20 CFS, provides drinking water for nearly 19,000 people. Because the plant occupies a small area, the underground structures, above ground concrete tanks and process piping have required intense coordination to fit all required systems. The scope of the project included water treatment process equipment, a metal building, concrete sludge drying beds, concrete backwash holding and recycle storage basin, modifications to the Ranney Well (source of potable water for City of Port Angeles), and tie-in to the City of Port Angeles SCADA system.
