Located at the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport, this project consisted of the complete interior renovation of two existing two-story buildings into pilot housing dormitories whose interiors included recreational rooms, lobby space, and outdoor pool facilities. Both buildings required asbestos abatement and were completely gutted of all interior partitions, flooring, MPE equipment, ductwork, and conduit. New plumbing was added to allow sinks in each of the 100 dormitory rooms, common shower areas on every floor, and individual pre-fabricated showers in select rooms. In addition, custom-made cabinetry was made in consideration of room size and existing structural constraints, room layout, and core requirements. Due to immediate occupancy needs, Lufthansa was phased to allow residents to move in and reside in the initially completed building while the other remained under construction.
