Weitz Promotes Mostaert to Vice President

PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 28, 2008)…Mike Bontrager, president of the Southwest Business Unit of The Weitz Company, is pleased to announce that Trent Mostaert has been promoted to vice president of operations.

Mostaert joined Weitz in 1995 as a Project Engineer with experience in commercial, residential and consulting construction. Since then, Trent has been promoted up through the chain of command holding positions such as Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Construction Manager. His superior technical expertise, dedication to quality, and consistent follow-through coupled with a “can do” attitude has made him a favorite to work with among a number of Weitz clients.

As vice president of operations, Mostaert is responsible for the senior management of construction operations of the Business Unit. Responsibilities specifically include team assignments, evaluation of job planning and performance, supervision of subcontracting and purchasing activities, equipment purchase decisions, subcontractor relations, innovation in building materials and methods and policy development and implementation for construction operations.

“Trent has shown true leadership by successfully managing complex projects for our Southwest Business Unit and heading key company wide initiatives. It was only appropriate he move into an officer position” says Bontrager.

Mostaert graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University. He is LEED Accredited by the US Green Building Council and is an Arizona Builders Alliance Leadership Development Forum graduate. He is also member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Reality Check Committee, and currently serves on the City of Phoenix Fire Advisory Board of Directors.
