Recycling Diverts Carpet From Landfill

Thanks to a carpet reclamation program through InterfaceFLOR™, the Construction Products Distributors (CPD) division of The Weitz Company diverted 38,616 pounds of carpet from going to a landfill. The tenant finish project was completed for AvivaUSA, West Des Moines, IA. CPD proposed a package for the new carpet and one for recycling more than 5,000 square yards of carpet to be removed from the existing space. Comparable to one tractor-trailer full of carpet, the old carpet was processed through InterfaceFLOR’s ReEntry® 2.0 Carpet Reclamation Program.
